Jon Hare has pulled the Kickstarter campaign for Sociable Soccer, the spiritual successor to his most famous of footballing games, Sensible Soccer.

The campaign had hoped to raise £300,000 so the game might make it to PC, PS4 and Xbox One at some point next year, but after a sluggish start it became clear that the required total was not going to be met.

According to a statement made on the Kickstarter page, while the campaign has closed, development will continue "full steam ahead," and that the game will now follow the traditional publisher route.

You can see an early playable build of the game in action in the trailer below, as well as check out some screens of the work-in-progress.
