For the first time since the game's initial release 16 years ago players will now be able to have free customisation over their sim's gender and gender identity.
The new patch, released on June 2, makes a few simple changes to the Sims 4 sims creator meaning that the player now has full control over their sim's type of physique, walk style, and tone of voice you choose - regardless of their gender.
This patch opens up all clothing, jewelry and makeup to any gender, expanding the opportunities for the player to customise their sims.
This is a big step for the franchise and for EA. It is something the game's audience have been asking for and it has already been well received.
The company released a patch update video along with a blog post explaining what is new.
