Blizzard details World of Warcraft's 7.1.5 patch

Patch 7.1.5 for World of Warcraft is set to arrive tomorrow, and Blizzard have detailed many of the new features that fans can expect, along with a new trailer which is a "survival guide" for the new patch.

One big new feature that's coming in 7.1.5 is Mists of Pandaria Timewalking, where "you'll get to join the denizens of Azeroth in a new journey back in time to the days of the lifting of the mists—Timewalking is coming to the islands of Pandaria. For players at level 91 and higher, this means a new Bonus Event every few weeks that operates very much like other Timewalking Bonus Events to Outland, Northrend, and Cataclysm."

This means new locations such as Temple of the Jade Serpent, Stormstout Brewery, and Shado-Pan Monastery, and it's also the first Timewalking Bonus Event to include pets as rewards.

Returning in 7.1.5 is the Brawler's Guild as well, requiring you to take on bosses one by one to ascend, with all new challenges coming. Also new to the Brawler's Guild is brawler's gold, something you'll win by fighting and completing quests, and other rewards like a basilisk mount and new achievements.

Last but not least, the patch also brings micro-holidays, and here's Blizzard's explanation of them: "Each one is meant to make the world feel more alive without making players feel like they need to participate for big rewards—while still providing some more variety and fun."

The first is happening from January 21-23, called Call of the Scarab: "To commemorate the first ringing of the Scarab Gong on January 23, 2006, players will be able to relive a portion of the Ahn'Qiraj gate opening by collecting items for turn-in. The winning faction will then be able to claim bragging rights and have their faction flag hang over the gates until the next Call of the Scarab micro-holiday event."
