While we were at E3 we happened to take at look at Daedalic Entertainment's The Pillars of the Earth, and also spoke to designer and writer Kevin Mentz about bringing Ken Follett's best-selling novel over.

"We're calling it an interactive novel, because it retells the story of the novel in an interactive way," says Mentz. "It's like a mix between what Daedalic did previously, like a point and click adventure-y game with 2D graphics, 2D characters, a lot of interaction with the environment, a lot of dialogue, choices you make, mixed with what Telltale does. We're focusing a lot on the narrative, on the characters and the relationships, and not so much on difficult puzzling."

Pillars of the Earth is split into three books (chapters) and each is "around 6 hours long" with the first one launching in August 15th on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

REVIEW. Written by Bengt Lemne

"There is certainly promise here and the narrative and drama itself are of such high quality that you can overlook that lack of actual consequence to your choices."
