You've probably heard that last weekend's Pokémon Go Fest didn't exactly go as planned. The developers at Niantic wanted to offer compensation for this by refunding everyone's tickets and gave away $100 in virtual currency for the mobile game. A nice thought, but they didn't take the fact that a large part of the attendees spent quite a lot of cash to get there into account. Now they're reminded of that.

Attorney Thomas Zimmerman has told Polygon that he's representing a class-action lawsuit against Niantic to get the travel expenses for "20 or 30" attendees reimbursed. His clients claims that Niantic failed to deliver what they advertised, which was that attendees would get hard-to-find Pokémon. "We're not seeking any relief with respect to the failure to get legendary Pokémon, because Niantic is offering that. But Niantic is not offering to refund people's travel expenses for coming to Chicago. Most of the people came from out of state, many people from other countries — I talked to someone who flew in from Japan," Zimmerman told Polygon. He specifies that they're not seeking more than to just reimburse the travel expenses, which we think seems fair. How about you?

"It isn't without its flaws, but what's there is engaging, innovative, and most importantly, fun."
