In case your hunger for Minecraft hasn't been sufficiently satisfied yet you're in luck. During the latest Nintendo Direct held last night, a new version of the popular Mojang adventure game was announced, this time for Nintendo 3DS, available "soon" on the European eShop (in the US the game is already available).
As we learned, this version will feature some peculiar features that allow Minecraft to fit perfectly to the portable nature of Nintendo's handheld consoles. Minecraft for 3DS will only be available for devices of the New Nintendo 3DS family and its world will be bigger than that of the Wii U version - 2016×2016 and 128 blocks high. Also, the version that will be available at launch, as reported by Mojang, will be 0.15.4 version of Minecraft: Pocket Edition, but it will not have online multiplayer - despite the fact that the studio has made it known that this feature will be added in the future.
In addition, thanks to the dual screen configuration, players can easily find their inventory and also take advantage of the console's touch screen features. But how much space the game will need? As we find out, since the game is already available on US eShop, Minecraft for 3DS will occupy 3,799 free space blocks, corresponding to approximately 475 MB.
At the moment we have no further information, but we hope Nintendo and Mojang will update us soon on the European launch date.
