Cliff Bleszinkski has been speaking frankly about the factors that have contributed to the sluggish start to life for his studio's new/debut online shooter, Lawbreakers.

Despite the sci-fi title being very good, the game remains underpopulated on both Steam and PlayStation 4 (although the PS4 version is said to be "doing fine"), with Bleszinkski acknowledging that it was "a mistake" launching the game without a traditional deathmatch mode.

Most notably, the man from Boss Key talked about his behaviour online, suggesting that he thinks his own conduct might have had a negative impact on the game's reception:

"You know, I have to keep this game alive, first and foremost", he told GameSpot. "I can be very cocky and very brash on social media. And realising that, you know, we have a fledgling player base. It's been very humbling for me. I'm going to continue to iterate on this game, continue to add to it. And try to be less of a dick, honestly."

Looking ahead Bleszinski and his team are "going to continue to iterate and engage. As we issue content drops, maybe there's going to be sales or potential free weekends down the line, continue to fluff that CCU up."

REVIEW. Written by Mike Holmes

"The clever implementation of gravity-defying combat comes with some satisfying and responsive shooter mechanics."
