Not even a week after launch, EA has been listening to user feedback and is now ready to release the first update for FIFA 18. The download, available today on PC, improves and expands several parts of the game, and is expected to arrive on consoles (PS4 and Xbox One so far) within the next few days.
In terms of gameplay, the most noticeable tweaks can be found near the penalty box, as both goalkeepers and shooting have been retouched. And even though shots are now less accurate, reaction times for goalkeepers have been also increased in certain situations, so it doesn't necessarily mean it's now more difficult to score. In terms of difficulty, Amateur and Semi-pro are now slightly more forgiving.
There's also good news for those confused when both home and away team kits look too similar when playing online, as the logic for kits has been improved. The full patch notes mention other tweaks and fixes for The Journey, Career Mode, and FUT 18.
Meanwhile, FIFA 18 users on Nintendo Switch are still asking for their own update patch as the game doesn't support friend matchmaking at launch.
