Wolfenstein II has no multiplayer so single-player isn't diluted

A lot of big games these days have multiplayer elements in some form or another, even if their main thrust is on the single-player experience, but in an interview with Games Industry Machine Games' narrative designer Tommy Tordsson Björk explained why there was none of this in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.

"The only way we can create these super immersive narrative experiences is if we can solely focus on the single-player. Having a multiplayer component in this work process would just dilute it all. That's the danger if you try to do two things at once," he said.

"There are so many things you aren't seeing. We're definitely pushing the limits, but at the same time continuing what makes Wolfenstein really special: the drama, the human relationships, with dark humour and violence. It's pushing them all, on all fronts."

Wolfenstein II is coming on October 27 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version coming later next year. Are you sad you're not getting a multiplayer portion?
