Loot boxes and microtransactions have been a heated debate in recent weeks, reignited by the fact that games such as Middle-earth: Shadow of War and Star Wars Battlefront II's beta have featured these systems, and now we know just how valuable these microtransactions are for one particular company - Take-Two.
A new fiscal report from the company reveals that 48% of their revenue comes from microtransactions and DLC, and we also find out that this is 66% more than the same period last year, and that digitally-delivered content grew by 31%, now accounting for 68% of total net revenue.
To put it simply, microtransactions and DLC sell, and Take-Two has proved that. Do you think that the approach to microtransactions will change? Should it?
