EA CEO Andrew Wilson, in a recent interview with Bloomberg, admitted his belief that the publisher might move away from yearly releases of its biggest sports titles.
Wilson explained the way the company approaches the Korean and Chinese markets, where they have "code drops" every four years with incremental updates along the way. Translated over here, in a move that would see games like Madden and FIFA given fewer but more significant updates, it could mean the end of annual releases.
At the very least it sounds like the company is considering its options moving forward.
