Star Wars Battlefront II has been under massive scrutiny as a result of its loot boxes recently. In the last couple days players realised that to unlock some of the best hero's in the game, like Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, you would need to spend around 40 hours earning the necessary credits. The reaction was so negative it lead to death threats to EA and DICE employees and the most downvoted post in Reddit history (where EA tried to explain themselves) and the decision was made to change things.

In a statement on the official website, EA and DICE revealed they will now be lowering the hero's prices, as far as 75%. Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader will now be available for 15,000 credits; Emperor Palpatine, Chewbacca, and Leia Organa for 10,000 credits; and Iden at 5,000 credits. You get credits by playing the game, although you can also buy them with real money.

EA and DICE promises to keep listening to the fans, and change the game when necessary to "improve the game experience over time". The studio will also be conducting a Reddit AMA on Wednesday, with some key leads from the team.

Star Wars Battlefront II is due out officially on Friday, though you can already play it using EA Access and Origin Access on Xbox One and PC respectively. You can read up on our review if you're curious about the game.

REVIEW. Written by Mike Holmes

"It never gets boring watching Yoda rip through enemy lines with his lightning-quick lightsaber (as long as he's on your side, of course)."
