Wild West Online has certainly captured the imaginations of plenty of potential players, especially as it's set to land ahead of Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar's next entry in the Wild West-themed series.

And those interested in checking it out ahead of its full release can now do so, after the game launched into early access. That's not the Steam variant though, as players will have to download a private client, paying either £30/$35/€30, £50/$59/€50, or £80/$94/€80 (with a Steam key landing for all early adopters).

It's early days and a lot of features and systems are going to be undercooked, and the devs themselves stress that you should only jump onboard if you want to support the game through the pre-release part of its development:

"As a team, we all agreed that it's unfair to get caught up in the hype of a new game and end up getting burned. We do not want you to feel like you bought into a game that isn't what you hoped for," to studio wrote on the game's store page.
