Earlier this year we found out that Ubisoft had plans to open a new studio in Berlin, Germany, and as of today the publisher announced that the studio will open early 2018 and will help with one of the biggest series
The team at Ubisoft Berlin will focus on collaborating on games from other Ubisoft studios, starting off with the Far Cry franchise. Istvan Tajnay, who worked at Ubisoft's Blue Byte studio from 2012, will act as studio manager.
"We are thrilled to be opening the doors to Ubisoft Berlin and working on the Far Cry series together with other Ubisoft teams", said Tajnay. "In the first year, we will build a core team of around 50 developers drawing on all areas of expertise. We are currently recruiting for these positions and the reception so far is overwhelmingly positive from candidates of a very high calibre."
Ubisoft Berlin's work on the Far Cry series looks to indicate something is coming after the release of Far Cry 5, which is being developed at Ubisoft Montreal. Are you pleased to finally hear some more details about Ubisoft Berlin?
