The Evil Within saw Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami returning to his survival horror roots, and fans rewarded the game with strong sales numbers. Therefore, it was pretty obvious that Bethesda was looking to capitalise and build a franchise. Recently, the sequel was released, and was met with reviews of a similar ilk. Now, a new report might be able to shed som light on its performance on the market.
According to a new report by VGChartz, the game sold 211,418 units across the West. The original game managed to shift over 800,000 copies during its first week on store shelves, but, as with all major titles released in 2017, a good portion of the sales may have been digital.
Now, one should always be aware that VGChartz doesn't deal in absolute numbers but estimates, but they do provide a ballpark figure that's likely not too far off the true numbers.
Dividing the alleged numbers up by platform, PlayStation 4 comes in first with 156,361 units (74%), next to 47,436 units sold Xbox One (22%), and 7,621 Windows PC (4%).
