Zenimax Online Studios has announced, that they've reached an impressive milestone in The Elder Scrolls Online, their massive MMO that launched back in 2014, and that has been continuously grown via expansions and updates. The game has now reached the 10 million players milestone, and to celebrate, Zenimax is planning a host of initiatives.
First off, the game is now completely free, the base game without the Morrowind expansion that is, on PC, Mac and PlayStation 4. You may download and explore the main game until December 6th, and your progress will of course carry over should you choose to invest in the game once the free period is over. As you'd expect the game is also available to purchase at a discounted price (up to 50% off).
In addition, a special Dungeon Event will run consecutively, and players who complete random dungeons via the game's group finder tool will win special prizes. There's costumes, pets and mounts to obtain, and not only that, if you participate you'll gain a ticket for a sweepstake that includes real-life prizes, such as a trip to PAX East 2018 and a special ESO branded console.
