Bandai Namco has been teasing that they've been working on a new Soul Calibur game for several years, but tonight they were finally done teasing, and we've got a solid confirmation of a new entry in the series.

Soul Calibur VI was officially unveiled with its first trailer during The Game Awards, and in the video we find out that the game has made the jump over to Unreal Engine 4, and that at least Mitsurugi and Sophitia will return for some intense fighting.

It also seems like we're getting some new mechanics, as their swords keeps changing colour and the camera appears to be more dynamic than the more static version in the predecessors.

Hopefully, we don't have to wait too long for more details. What do you think so far - do you like the changes?

"For newcomers it's a great opportunity to dip a toe in this legendary fighting series, and for older fans, it feels like a warm and lovely welcome back."
