It's been more than 14 years since Angelina Jolie said goodbye to Lara Croft in Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, but you could say that Crystal Dynamics revitalised the franchise when they rebooted the game series 10 years later. That's why we weren't all that surprised when Roar Uthaug announced that he was making a new Tomb Raider film with Alicia Vikander as Ms. Croft. Uthaug also said that the film would draw quit a bit of inspiration from the newest games, and the first trailer most definitely showed signs of that. The second trailer is no different.

The new trailer that Warner Bros. has provided shows a few seconds of how "ordinary" Lara Croft's life used to be before she became the adventurer we know now, then goes to the other end of the spectrum by focusing on the different things she'll have to endure when the action starts. Those of you who've played the latest games will recognise many of the sequences, as the only thing missing is pretty much a branch or something going through her throat.

How do you like the new trailer compared to the first one?
