The last couple of weeks have been rife with rumours about a new Fable game. ResetEra user Klobrille claimed a new Fable game was in the works, then weeks later a report came via Eurogamer that a single-player Fable game was being developed by Playground Games.

Now the people over at IGN have reached out to the team behind Fable, among them former Lionhead chief Peter Molyneux, and asked what they would want from a new Fable game. Molyneux has some pretty cool ideas about how combat would work and affect the player.

"I would love to see brutal, visceral and fluid combat system that left permanent scars. Weapons like short swords, long swords, daggers, spears, longbows and crossbows all having a there own combat feel and specialties. The magic system should be revamped with the ability to 'craft' your own unique system. Having a familiar of your choice (bird, cat, dog (goldfish???) ) which assists you with magic and bonds with you."

He would also like to see more creatures, more specifically dragons. BIG ONES. He'd also like players to be able to bond with them, even ride them... Yes please!

And in true Fable tradition he wants the player's alignment and/or class to shift based on their actions. And, of course, all the other stuff like being able to marry, play co-op, build a house, buy a town, and so on and so forth.

Would you like to see a Fable game like the one Molyneux imagines? Let us know in the comments down below.
