Master Chief is no stranger to the Funko Pop figure series and has been immortalized in plastic before. But now Funko and 343 Industries has announced a new joint effort via Twitter with no less than four new characters to collect, Master Chief, Sergeant Major Avery Junior Johnson, Arbiter and the ODST soldier Buck. There are also slight variation of them sold exclusively at stores like GameStop and Best Buy.

No date has been announced other than that it will be released sometime during 2018. It's worth pointing out that no Halo game has been announced for 2018 and as we reported earlier this month, it is unlikely that Halo 6 will be launched this year.

The developer of the Halo games, 343 Industries, has however stated:

"2018 has arrived and with it, the promise of new fun times to be had and adventures to be embarked upon. No, not those adventures, but plenty of exciting ones regardless - some which might surprise you more than others."

Judging from the fact that a new Funko Pop Halo series is launched without any obvious reason and this cryptic message from 343 Industries, it still sounds plausible that there will be a Halo video game of some sort released in 2018.
