The latest instalment in the God of War series has been tantilising us for quite a while, as there have been months of news, rumours, and speculation, but now we have a solid release date of April 20 this year, and to celebrate the announcement Sony Santa Monica's Cory Barlog has shared an extensive blog post about the game and the different editions.
If you pre-order any version of the game from selected retailers, or have done already, you'll get three legendary shield skins, as well as a Luck of Ages XP boost, which gives Kratos +10 to Luck and has one Enchantment slot. As for what Luck actually does, this increases XP and Hacksilver gain, as well as the ability to trigger Perks, so it sounds pretty important.
In regards to the editions, the Collector's Edition first of all features a 9" statue crafted alongside Gentle Giant, and also comes with a cloth map; an art pack; the Huldra Bros carvings; and more, which you can see in the picture below.
Then there's the Limited Edition, "designed to look like it came straight from the forges of Midgard," according to Barlog. This comes with a black and silver steelbook emblazoned with the Huldra Bros logo, a physical copy of the Dark Horse art book, in-game goodies like the Death's Vow armour, and a God of War PS4 theme.
The Digital Edition also has its fair share of extras, as this also includes the Death's Vow armour, which increases strength, as well as digital versions of the art and comic books, both of which come with "exclusive creator commentary tracks."
Which edition will you be getting?
